today. Environmental responsibility begins first with education. The first thing you learn about becoming an Earth Mom is that you are committed to a life-long marathon, not a short term sprint. To be effective begins slowly and deftly from home by applying your new-found knowledge within your own domicile. The success of the Earth Mom movement is integrally dependent upon your personal dedication toward setting and maintaining your own personal environmental standards before attempting to move outward. While some organizations would have you impose your environmental standards on others, we ask instead, that you silently lead by example and then when ready, share our simple philosophies with others in your life. What is the difference between the Earth Mom philosophy and organized Boycott? A boycott typically implies a negative action as in an act of punishment or protest. We prefer our organization and all actions associated, be viewed as proactive and be held in a positive, rewarding light. We have no wish to damage or diminish the income of any company but rather to inspire each and every one of them on to greatness. Each company holds their own future within their hands. As we grow into a significant global movement, companies who choose to embrace our philosophies will be amply rewarded over those who take shortcuts in the quest for lower prices at the expense of our environment.
How can a business committed to the environment first, remain competitive over those that don't? As an organization, we recognize that goods produced in a sustainable manner, non-toxic to the environment, may tend to cost more. Regardless, we remain committed to the purchase of goods supplied by environmentally compliant entities, even if those goods cost a few pennies more at the register.
Why do you encourage some of the worst offenders to join? There's a saying about keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. Companies are made up of people. For any business entity to join or ranks and enjoy our patronage, they must agree to the terms of joining our organization. One important mandate is for each entity to promote individual Earth Mom membership within its worker ranks. With dedicated Earth Mom members working from within large organizations to effect positive changes, the chances of making, changing and monitoring environmental policies from within becomes much more of a reality. At first, this mandate may be a hard pill for business entities to swallow, but being noticeably absent from our list of preferred Earth Mom business members will quickly become a motivating factor as our ranks consistently choose alternative compliant companies to patronize for the same products.
Why should I choose to become an environmentally aware when we have government agencies to look out for us? Your government sets guidelines in terms of acceptable parts per million of chemicals, toxins, poisons, drug traces, etc., that they feel are allowable into the air you breath, water you drink, food you eat or soaks into your system through your skin. As a result, the average fetus now absorbs over 700 different toxins across the placenta during development. Plus we all now strive to drink bottled or filtered water that not so long ago was available in seemingly inexhaustable quantities right though our municipal water taps. We all would like to think that the government has our best interests at heart but then there are lobbyists who influence politicians to vote in favor of bills that relax safeguards and allow dangerous practices that can compromise our health in pursuit of higher short term profits for the few without regard to the long term damage they cause. We feel zero parts per million pollutants and toxins in our bodies is the only acceptable number to strive toward.

To be successful, our organization builds upon a solid informed foundation consisting of thousands and soon, millions of dedicated members, all acting in concert for the benefit of the environment. Businesses claim to care but how can we be so sure? Businesses are made up of people, many of which are employees, investors, clients and consumers. Few employees are going to want to work for an offending company. Few investors are going to want to own stock in an offending company. As people around the world embrace our simple system, clients and consumers of offending companies are going to start migrating away. Revenues will plummet, stock prices will plummet, bank will refuse to lend them money and their daily operations will soon cease to exist. Any Earth Mom members, professionals or businesses who openly participate in misrepresenting their practices, will first be privately warned, publicly warned, then permanently ostracized from our movement. Why does the Earth Mom name include a trademark? The answer is two-fold. One, as Earth Mom begins to have an impact, we fully expect our Earth Mom movement to be attacked and misrepresented on several levels. Without trademark and copyright protection, we lack the ability to fully protect our name and how it is used by others both commercially as well as in the media. Second, the Earth Mom image helps to generate revenues of which a portion goes to the Earth Mom Foundation which is dedicated to raising funds to solve many of the planets largest problems. Any loss of revenues due to the illegal sale of non-licensed goods from unqualified entities, serve to undercut our earthly objectives.
How do I stage a rally to get news of Earth Mom out to the general population? We do not condone the use of rallies, protests, sit-ins, arrests, etc., nor do we outwardly seeks media attention. We are a silent movement dedicated to adopting a way of life that simply put, places the needs of the planet ahead of the need for creature comforts. Can I take advantage of my Facebook and Twitter? Our answer in this case is yes, but subject only to having you accomplishing the first two goals we ask of you, Education and Accountability. There are many reasons for this. First, we want only informed, accountable members helping us to grow our organization. Also, as we grow into a collectively powerful organization, there will be those willing to take pot shots at our members. They will try to expose our weaknesses and even go as far as examining our trash cans for evidence to discredit our dedication to our cause in pursuit of newsworthy fodder. Our members are human and from time to time may indulge themselves in ways that can arguably be considered counterproductive to the needs of the environment.
