Product Impact


Categorize exactly what bi-products are entering the environment due to the creation of your product lines? What can you do to reduce or eliminate them completely? Are any polluting product lines profitable enough to keep producing in face of growing concerns?

How many suppliers do you have on board with your new environmental mandates? Have they established an environmental compliance policy? If they have websites, are they displaying the Earth Mom or other recognizable icon on their face page to direct people to their policy? If you use monitoring companies to report on oversees production, do you have them check for environmental abuses or are you just concerned with worker abuses?

How much of your packaging is made up of recycled materials?

How much of your packaging is made from sustainable, non-toxic and recyclable materials?

Are your materials designed to be completely recyclable and/or break down completely later in landfills?

Does your resellers offer packaging recycle centers where your packaging can be dropped off? Are the materials actually recycled or simply dumped into landfills for appearances sake? You really want to know the answer to this one.

Is the world better off without your product? If so, expect demand to one day fall off as more of the population gets on board with learning responsible spending techniques.
